Kaitlyn

Age: 7 yr

Weight: 68 lb

Kaitlyn is a sweet and gentle girl who has gotten along with everyone she meets. She’s been good with other dogs.  She was initially a tiny bit anxious meeting our resident pup - that quickly vanished and she will lay with our dog now and groom his face and ears. Any person she sees , she will immediately go to, tail wagging for pets. She has been wonderful with our 5 year old and had a little human in her previous home, so she is definitely good with children.

She’s happy spending her days snoozing, but loves a good walk and is good on a leash, just some occasional pulling at the beginning but quickly settles into a nice pace. She loves her meal time and was over 20 pounds overweight when she came in - she’s down 15 lbs and moves around a lot better. She’ll occasionally get a pep in her step and run for a tennis ball or get the zoomies, but she’s mostly content with her walks, roaming in the backyard for good smells, snuggling and snoozing.

Kaitlyn came in with the worst ear infection I’ve seen in 15 years of fostering. Our vet partners have worked closely with her team over the last several months identifying and addressing her ear and skin conditions.  With treatment, she’s gotten to a much better place without pain. She continues to be monitored for skin and ear infections which most likely will occur intermittently her entire life.  Her ideal adopter would need to be aware and seek treatment quickly should an infection arise.

She is the typical happy and sweet golden. She’s such a gentle girl and happy she’s finally out of pain and onto the good life.  You will be rewarded with an incredibly lovable dog who only asks that you continue to stay on top of her health.
