Kirstie

Age: 4 yr

Weight: 65 lb

Kirstie is a big, funny, loving lap doodle!  She wants nothing more than to hang out with you on the couch or at your feet getting lots of petting and scruffles.  She loves her chew toys, kongs and maze feeder too.  She’s been on a diet and has a few more pounds to lose so will hop off your lap to go to her crate for food or treats.  She is actually great in her crate.  She doesn’t whine unless food is late (understandable!) and stays in it all night.

Anyone who knows doodles know that they have a lot of enthusiasm and Kirstie is no different.  She struggles with jumping up when a new person walks in and sometimes gets mouthy like a puppy would.  She is eager to please and responds well to training, she just needs to learn big girl manners!

She struggles on a leash, mostly because her unbridled enthusiasm for anything and everything make her a little hard to control.  With time and consistency we have seen improvements that make it clear that Kirstie is going to be a high reward dog for someone who wants to put in the work!

Her enthusiasm and lack of experience make it impossible to test her with other dogs right now.  We are definitely looking for a no dog home to start.

She runs in our fenced in backyard for quick business trips - she never wants to stay long or explore.  Either with or without a fence, you need to be interested in some long walks to tire this girl out because she has energy.

We have not tested her with young kids and she is fine with our dog loving teens but I think she might think of small people as playmates so she would do best in a house without children.

Who wants some big sweet doodle energy, come meet Kirstie!
